Durham College (DC) will provide updates regarding positive COVID-19 cases impacting our campus community on this page. The charts below indicate active on-campus students or employees who have tested positive for COVID-19.
An additional COVID-19 case reported at the Whitby campus results in an outbreak
Latest update: Saturday February 20-
- The individual was last on campus in the Electrical shop on Friday, February 12. As this case is related to a previously communicated case, the Durham Region Health Department (DRHD) has declared an outbreak in the affected area.
- An outbreak is defined by the DRHD as two or more lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in students and/or employees (or other visitors) where at least one case could have reasonably acquired their infection on campus.
- DRHD has confirmed the space is safe for use.

Please note: if Public Health determines there is a health and safety risk on campus due to a positive case of COVID-19, the college will be provided with directives and appropriate steps will be taken. Public Health will directly contact any individuals deemed to be at risk.
As a reminder, the health and safety of our campus community remains our highest priority and DC has taken extensive measures to help control the spread of COVID-19. This includes, ensuring all people coming to campus take the COVID-19 Pre-entry Screening Questionnaire, limiting the amount of people on campus, as well as implementing very strict preventative safety measures and enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols.
