Orange Shirt Day honours the Survivors of residential schools, remembers the children who never returned home, and recognizes the lasting impacts of the residential school system on Indigenous Peoples, families, communities, and future generations. The day serves as an opportunity for reflection, learning, and meaningful action toward truth and reconciliation. On September 30, Durham College will host the 2nd Annual Orange Shirt Day Mini Powwow in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Celebrate Indigenous culture and resilience through traditional dancing, drumming, activities, vendors, and more. See the DC Events page for full details.
