Alumnus of Distinction Award winner and Sports Administration graduate to offer words of wisdom to class of 2011. OSHAWA, Ont. – Dan Quinn, a 2011 Durham College Alumni of Distinction Award winner and 1984 graduate of the college’s Sports Administration program, will offer the keynote address at the college’s annual fall convocation ceremony taking place on Thursday, November 17. More than 600 graduates and their family and friends will join the college’s faculty, staff and Board of Governors as students from the schools of Business, IT & Management; Continuing Education; Health & Community Services; Interdisciplinary Studies & Employment Services; Justice & Emergency Services; Media, Art & Design; Science & Engineering Technology; and Skilled Trades, Apprenticeship & Renewable Technology are awarded their credentials. Quinn has travelled Ontario establishing multiple sports clubs for physically disabled children and adults; established the Canadian Sport Awards program to recognize the accomplishments of Canada’s leading amateur athletes; raised funds to support amateur sports in Canada; and restructured the broadcast landscape to bring more National Football League football to Canadian fans. The college’s fall convocation ceremony will bring its total number of alumni to close to 56,000 strong.
