Operations Impact: DCApps temporarily offline

This message is sent on behalf of IT Services.

As a precautionary measure, Durham College (DC) has temporarily taken the DCApps service offline in response to a global cybersecurity issue affecting website software. There has been no indication that DC systems have been compromised.

DCApps is an external, web-based app hub that allows users to run course-specific software, powered by AppsAnywhere, a third-party vendor.

While DCApps is offline, students and faculty will not be able to access the service on their personal devices. These applications, however, will continue to be available on campus in computer labs.

DC’s IT Services team is coordinating with the vendor to complete the necessary security updates. We expect service will be back online by the end of day on Friday, October 23.

Students are encouraged to contact their faculty members for additional information on how this may affect their coursework.

We appreciate your patience while we make the necessary updates.
