SAD No More Tour to visit Durham College

Dr. Ted Jablonski will speak about seasonal affective disorder in conjunction with Mental Health Awareness Day for Students

OSHAWA, Ont. – Durham College will welcome the SAD No More Tour to campus next week as part of Mental Health Awareness Day for Students. The event is designed to promote awareness of mental health, the role it plays in a student’s life and the support available on campus and within the local community.

As part of the day, Dr. Ted Jablonski, creator of the SAD No More 2010 Tour, will be speaking to students about health and wellness issues and the impact of seasonal affective disorder (SAD) during a keynote presentation from 11 a.m. to noon.

Dr. Jablonski is currently running and cycling across Canada to speak extensively on the effective management of SAD and depression in general. He began his tour on August 1 in Victoria, B.C. and will end his journey on Wednesday, November 3 in Calgary, Alta.

In addition to hearing Dr. Jablonski’s presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to view various educational displays related to mental health that have been created by the college’s many community service providers.
