Saturday, March 28 at Durham College’s Oshawa and Whitby campuses
  • Participant arrival: 9 a.m.
  • Meet with team lead: 9:15 a.m.
  • Participants to locations: 9:30 a.m.
  • Event: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Departure: 3 p.m.

YOUR ROLE AT OPEN HOUSE

Participant and volunteer registration is now closed. You will receive your role by email on Monday, March 16, from openhousevolunteers@durhamcollege.ca.

Online TRAINING

Online training is now available. All participants should review the training resource prior to Open House, which includes important day‑of‑event information.

PARTICIPANT TRAINING

If you have further questions, join the OPTIONAL drop-in session on Wednesday, March 18 from 10:30 a.m. until noon. New participants are strongly encouraged to attend.

Tour Training

Tour guides must attend the in‑person training session if they have not previously supported campus tours.
Oshawa Tour Training will be hosted on Tuesday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Whitby Campus and 1p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Oshawa Campus. A member of our Student Recruitment team will connect with tour guides in advance of the training session with more information.

We understand plans can change. If you can no longer attend Open House, please email openhousevolunteers@durhamcollege.ca as soon as possible.

Event Details

PARTICIPANT AND VOLUNTEER ARRIVAL

Tour guides, parking attendants, apply now room support, general support and welcome committee participants will check in and meet their team lead at 9 a.m. in the participant room:

  • SW201 and SW202 (Oshawa)
  • Shop Class 7 (Whitby)

Faculty and service area participants  and volunteers may join us in the participant room for refreshments before meeting their team, at the appropriate booth or room.

PARKING

Please follow the event parking signs:

  • Commencement Lot (Oshawa)
  • Whitby Main Lot (Whitby)

EVENT CATERING

Coffee, tea, and granola bars will be available in the participant rooms upon arrival. Lunch will also be available. A short lunch break will be coordinated with your team lead between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

DC APPAREL

To maintain a consistent and professional appearance, all Open House participants and volunteers are required to wear DC-branded clothing.

Employees: Please wear your item provided through the DC Apparel Program. If you’re a new employee and haven’t received your DC-branded apparel, email events@durhamcollege.ca

Students: If you don't own DC apparel, you will be provided with a DC t-shirt at check in.
