Amanda Cannon - Durham College

Meet Amanda Cannon, the dedicated Program Coordinator and Professor for Durham College’s 9-1-1 Emergency and Call Centre Communications program. A graduate of the program with a Master’s in Education and certifications in APCO (Association of Public Safety Communications Officials) public safety telecommunications and Mental Health First Aid, Amanda combines academic expertise with firsthand industry knowledge. As a seasoned faculty member, she is deeply committed to fostering student success through a supportive, hands-on learning environment, while building strong community partnerships and mentorship opportunities. Amanda’s leadership ensures students receive cutting-edge technical training alongside guidance in crisis intervention and mental health resilience, empowering them to excel in the fast-paced world of emergency telecommunications.
