Experiential learning opportunities give graduates a head start in media careers

Durham College Radio and Broadcasting graduates Quinn Medwid and Branden Rushton turned hands-on studio training into careers in the media industry. Quinn overcame homelessness before launching her career as a media preparations operator at Sportsnet. She credits the program’s technical foundation and focus on collaboration with helping prepare her for the industry. Branden combined his journalism and broadcasting studies to land a full-time role as a PM reporter and anchor with My Broadcasting Corporation. Both graduates demonstrate how field placements can help students launch successful careers in media.
