Durham College’s (DC) Occupational Therapist Assistant and Physiotherapist Assistant (OTPA) students recently participated interactive rehabilitation workshops hosted by community partners including Enovis Canada, DOTS4Kids, Fundamentals Physiotherapy & Wellness Clinic, and Grandview Kids. These hands-on sessions allowed students to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting, develop technical skills, and build confidence ahead of their upcoming field placements. The OTPA program maintains close ties with industry through ongoing collaboration with field placement advisors, a dedicated Program Advisory Committee representing the full continuum of care, and part-time faculty who actively work in the field. These connections ensure the program continues to reflect evolving industry standards and provide students with the experience and insight needed to succeed as future health care professionals. SHARE:
