Photography graduate captures Oshawa through TeachingCity partnership

When Julia Waller enrolled in Durham College’s (DC) Photography program, she was eager to apply her skills beyond the classroom. Through TeachingCity Oshawa, a partnership between the City of Oshawa and local post-secondary institutions, she gained valuable experiential learning documenting concerts, sporting events, corporate functions and community spaces. For her final project, Waller used panoramic photography to contrast natural landscapes with urban development, showcasing Oshawa’s evolving character. The experience strengthened her technical, creative and project-planning skills. Now a DC graduate, Waller is pursuing a career in product photography while continuing to build her portfolio in sports, macro and promotional photography.
