Durham College (DC) is proud to partner with the Town of Whitby on an exciting new opportunity for students: the Whitby Fire and Emergency Services Inclusivity Excellence Award. Two awards will be awarded annually to racialized students from Whitby who have been accepted into the Firefighter- Pre-Service Education and Training or Fire Prevention and Technology programs. The awards will cover full tuition, not including textbooks, equipment and ancillary services. The award is available to Whitby residents who graduate from a Whitby high school. Self-identify as a racialized person. Are Whitby residents and graduated from a Whitby high school. Do I need to apply to Durham College before I can apply for the Whitby Fire and Emergency Services Inclusivity Excellence Award? Yes, you need to be accepted to Durham College for September 2024 in the Firefighter- Pre-Service Education and Training program OR the Fire Prevention and Technology program. If you meet the criteria and are enrolled, you have until April 1, 2024 to apply. What happens if I accept my offer to Durham College but do not receive the award?
