Progress Report Progress Report 2025 Activity Status Objective: Raise awareness and build capacity Recruit DC champions to promote the value of RDM RDM Working Group created RDM Working Group members to participate in external training opportunities on RDM Members participated in the Heads of Applied Research webinar series; and Digital Research Alliance of Canada webinar offerings RDM Working Group members to participate in external training on OCAP® Principles Training on OCAP® Principles organized by ORSIE; attended by researchers, REB members and RDM Working Group members: January 2024 and April 2025 Develop RDM resources The following resources were developed and reviewed by RDM Working Group, Research Coordinators, REB members: · Data Management Plan (DMP) Assistant – DC template · RDM resource page to be shared on intranet Indigenous data considerations Highlighted in the RDM resource page on intranet; continue to expand resources with input from REB, First Peoples Indigenous Centre, and a faculty researcher engaging in research activities with Indigenous communities Consult and engage with researchers and those supporting research process Shared updates and resources with Research Coordinators, REB members, and researchers working with ORSIE RDM resources are being piloted with two current CCSIF projects DMP Assistant template to be embedded in REB application form Develop RDM communication strategy In development; to be shared in the coming months Provide RDM training to researchers, staff and students Library staff offered workshops for researchers, including students and staff, covering RDM Best Practices and DMP creation Self-directed training options to be shared as part of the RDM resources Objective: Assess and support institutional readiness Investigate current faculty researcher practices on data management Initial survey conducted in Fall 2022 Review of Social Impact Hub project lead RDM practices conducted in Winter 2024 Random sample of REB applications reviewed for RDM practices Winter 2025 Develop a standard data management plan (DMP) template DC-specific template created with input from Social Impact Hub project leads, Research Coordinators and REB members Template will be incorporated into the DC REB application form Provide guidance and support for DC researchers choosing appropriate data repository and offer training Library offers Borealis data repository and is available to provide guidance for additional repositories upon request Training in development Raise awareness of institutional repository for research publications and related assets D-Scholar shared by library staff at a Research Coordinators meeting D-Scholar to be highlighted in planned communication to launch RDM resources Objective: Formalize RDM practices Develop an institutional policy and procedure for RDM Procedure is in development, and RDM will be embedded where applicable into existing DC policies. Strengthen networks with and learn from national groups, networks and other colleges and participate in training RDM Working Group members continue to engage with external networks including Heads of Applied Research, RDM College Community of Practice, as well as training offered by Digital Research Alliance of Canada and the Tri-Agency funders.
