DC Kids Speech and Language Clinic The Communicative Disorder Assistant (CDA) program at Durham College offers speech and language clinics during the fall and winter semesters. The clinic will offer a fun, exciting and effective intervention for children with speech and/or language delays. Children have the opportunity to improve speech, fluency, phonological awareness, reading, expressive/receptive or social communication-related challenges. A registered Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) offers an assessment of each child during the first week to ensure your child has a therapy plan fit for them. Following the assessments, children receive weekly 30 minute treatment sessions with the CDA students under the direct supervision of the SLP to implement the treatment plan in the progressing weeks. Services are provided with a one-time registration fee of $40. Payment should only be made once time of attendance and commencement of the program has been confirmed, you will be notified of this, please do not proceed with payment until then. At that time, kindly use the link below for online payment: Pay now Who can participate? Participation is for children with speech and/or language delays who consent to and can actively participate in therapy with CDA students under the direction of an SLP. A waitlist will be created and maintained should there be a higher demand for speech language therapy than available, and clients will be contacted as space becomes open in treatment sessions. Where will the sessions take place? In-person Durham College CDA lab, room A113, Gordon Willey building, Oshawa campus. Parking will be provided onsite for program participants free of charge.
