Professor Vahid Matinnavi took their Civil Engineering Codes & Regulations students on an exciting site visit to the Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) Low-Level Radioactive Waste Remediation Projects in Port Hope! 🏗️
The 3rd-year Civil Engineering Technology students kicked off the day with a presentation on the history, methods, and objectives of the remediation projects, led by CNL's communication team and the director of engineering services. After the informative session, the students boarded a bus provided by CNL to tour multiple project sites, where project teams gave briefings on the ongoing work and answered students' questions.

Last week, the Project Management class at Durham College had the privilege of hosting Joe Campa and Dawn Lee from Ontario Power Generation’s Project Management Office (PMO) as guest speakers. They shared invaluable insights into Project Management, Project Control, PMO activities, and career paths within OPG.
A highlight of the seminar was an interactive session on project complexity scoring, where students applied real-world tools to assess project intricacies through a hands-on case study.

Our BMTY students had an incredible opportunity to connect with Vancouver General Hospital at their recent recruitment event! 🙌 Guest speaker Brian Lee shared valuable insights into the diverse career opportunities available at the hospital, from summer positions for 2nd-year students to placement after 3rd year 💼✨
The event also featured the inspiring video, BMETS: Unsung Heroes of Healthcare, highlighting the vital role of biomedical engineering technologists in patient care.
At the end, our students had a chance to ask Brian questions and get expert advice during the Q&A session. 🙋♂️🙋♀️ Big thanks to Vancouver General Hospital for this amazing learning experience! 👏
