Spring Transition Event

This event is for any prospective students with exceptionalities who have applied to and/or are considering attending Durham College. This session will help you and your parents/guardians better understand what changes you will experience at the post-secondary level and what different supports are available to assist you. You will have the opportunity to ask questions from our panel of staff members and learn about how you can access supports on campus.

Who can Attend? Students with exceptionalities in grade 12 or who have completed high school and a guest (i.e., parent, guardian) who are planning on coming to Durham College in September 2025. Please note that pre-registration is required so we can provide you with information.

When? Wednesday, April 30th, 2025, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Where? This event will be held as a hybrid event. You can attend in person or digitally! For those attending in person, the event will be in CFCE 145.

ASD Transition Event

The ASC is offering a half-day information session for prospective students with Autism Spectrum Disorder who have applied to, or are considering attending Durham College.  This event is designed to help ease the transition for students from their current secondary school supports and introduce them to the numerous services that are available at the ASC and across our campus.  The differences between secondary school and post-secondary school will also be highlighted, as students have a chance to listen to our student panel who will share their personal experiences from their own college journey.

Who can Attend?: Students with an ASD exceptionality in grade 12 or who have completed high school and their guest. People who are planning on coming to Durham College in September 2025.

When?: Tuesday, April 29th, 2025, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Where?: This event will be held as a hybrid event. You can attend in person or digitally! For those attending in person, the event will be in CFCE 116.

How to Register:

  • (confirmation emails will be sent closer to the date of the program)
  • (Due to room capacity, there is a limit of only 1 guest per student unless special circumstances specified)
