The Governor General's Academic Medal and Regional Chair's Classic in Memory of Roger Anderson Convocation Award Given annually during Durham College’s Spring Convocation ceremony, this award goes to the highest-ranking graduate of any two- or three-year full-time diploma program (the recipient is not eligible for other college medals). President’s Award of Excellence in Student Leadership This award, with its financial honorarium, recognizes the student who best displays the attributes of leadership and integrity while demonstrating involvement in a variety of campus activities. As a student leader, their behaviour reflects the values of the institution and has significantly impacted the campus by creating an environment supportive of student success for years to come. Congratulations to the 2025 recipient: Liam Croft Doris and Gordon Willey Founder’s Cup for Excellence The Founder’s Cup for Excellence was presented to Durham College on November 30, 1999, by Doris Willey in memory of her husband, Dr. Gordon E. Willey, the college’s founding President (1969-1980). This award, with its financial honorarium, is presented annually to the Durham College student who best demonstrates the attributes of scholarship, leadership, integrity and involvement in college affairs. This reflects the concept of Dr. Willey’s original choice for the college motto – Excellence Through Perseverance.
