Livechat Updates

Hey DC Students!

We’ve got an update from the Office of the Registrar and International Education (that’s the team behind Enrolment Services, International Education, and Admissions).

To make it easier and faster for you to get help with your questions, we’re launching a new Case Management system. This means we’ll be able to track and respond to your inquiries more efficiently, giving you a smoother experience when you reach out for support.

As part of this upgrade, we’re saying goodbye to live agent chats on our current LiveChat service. But don’t worry — you’ll still be able to get quick answers through the Durham College Virtual Assistant (DCVA), which is available 24/7! The DCVA can help with common questions, guide you through processes, and connect you to the right resources.

What’s Changing?

  • The LiveChat bubble will still be on our webpages, but instead of chatting with a live agent, you’ll interact with the DCVA.
  • If the DCVA can’t answer your question, it’ll prompt you to fill out a contact form so the right team can follow up with you directly.

When Is This Happening?

  • The live agent chat will be turned off at the end of the day on Wednesday, August 20.

We’re excited about this change because it means faster, more consistent support for you — and you’ll still have access to help anytime, day or night.
