Munster Technological University was established in 2021 as a result of the amalgamation of The Institute of Technology Tralee and Cork Institute of Technology, both of which were originally founded in the 1970’s. The University is empowered to make its own academic awards from Level 6 to Level 10 (ie. Higher Certificate to PhD) on the National Qualifications Framework. All program design, implementation, and assessment at the University is subject to the strict academic quality assurance standards of Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) – see www.qqi.ie.
The Tralee campus of MTU is situated in the scenic County Kerry. It offers a broad range of programs including Animation, Business, Computing, Early Childhood Education, Engineering, Event Management, Massage Therapy, Social Sciences, and Health, Sport and Exercise Sciences.
The Tralee campus currently enrols over 3000 students, has in excess of 70 nationalities on campus, and employs 350 staff. It offers a warm welcoming environment for all international students.
