Our college block credit transfer pathways allow you to move seamlessly with your college diploma into our honours degree programs. Whether you have prior university or college education, we will assess your academic history for transfer credit towards your degree. Overview of pathways available for Durham College Students

Honours Bachelor of Business Administration:

Any two-year business-related diploma may receive up to 5–7 credits (1.5 years). Any three-year business-related diploma may receive up to 10–12 credits (2 years). To be eligible for admission consideration through the college block credit transfer pathway, you require a minimum cumulative average of low to mid-70s. This pathway is available full-time on-campus.

Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood Studies:

Applicants with a completed Early Childhood Education diploma are eligible to receive 10 credits (2 years). To be eligible for admission consideration through the college block credit transfer pathway, you require a minimum cumulative average of low to mid-70s. This pathway is available full-time on-campus, full-time online, or part-time online.

Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Justice Studies:

Applicants with a completed Police Foundations or Protection, Security & Investigation diploma are eligible to receive 10 credits (2 years). Applicants with a completed Law Clerk or Paralegal diploma are eligible to receive 5 credits (1 year). To be eligible for admission consideration through the college block credit transfer pathway, you require a minimum cumulative average of low to mid-70s. This pathway is available full-time on-campus.

Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Kinesiology:

Applicants with a completed Fitness & Health Promotion diploma are eligible to receive 5.5 credits + 2 non-credit practicum courses (1 year). With this pathway, students complete six courses (May through August), then complete two fall/winter terms. Applicants with a completed Occupational Therapy Assistant & Physiotherapist Assistantdiploma are eligible to receive 4.0 credits + 2 non-credit practicum courses (1 year). With this pathway, students complete three fall/winter terms. To be eligible for admission consideration through the college block credit transfer pathway, you require a minimum cumulative average of 75%. This pathway is available full-time on-campus.

Honours Bachelor of Applied Arts in Media & Communication Studies:

Any two-year media- or communications-related diploma may receive up to 5 credits (1 year). Any three-year media- or communications-related diploma may receive up to 10 to 12 credits (2 years). To be eligible for admission consideration through the college block credit transfer pathway, you require a minimum cumulative average of low to mid-70s. This pathway is available full-time on-campus.

Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Psychology:

Applicants with a completed Behavioural Science Technician diploma are eligible to receive 5 credits (1 year). To be eligible for admission consideration through the college block credit transfer pathway, you require a minimum cumulative average of low to mid-70s. This pathway is available full-time on-campus.

Honours Bachelor of Applied Science in Social Services & Well-Being Studies:

Applicants with a completed Social Service Worker or Developmental Services Worker diploma, or a completed Child & Youth Care advanced diploma, are eligible to receive 10 credits (2 years). To be eligible for admission consideration through the college block credit transfer pathway, you require a minimum cumulative average of low to mid-70s. This pathway is available full-time on-campus, or part-time online.

General Transfer Policy

If you have a degree, diploma (not listed in the college block credit transfer section), or coursework from a recognized college or university, your transfer credit will be determined through our general transfer pathway. Your transfer credit will be determined once you apply and you’ll receive a Transfer Credit Assessment at the point of admission. Your Transfer Credit Assessment is an official document that outlines the credit you will receive from courses completed at other postsecondary institutions towards your credentials earned at the University of Guelph-Humber. General transfer is available for our full-time, in-person delivery options for all programs except the Kinesiology program. Our Kinesiology program does not accept general transfer applicants.
