Durham College (DC) offers pre-admission assessment testing to mature domestic applicants to meet admission requirements in English and/or math. Domestic applicants that are 19 years of age or older as of the start date of their program, and who do not have the required program credit(s) i.e., Grade 12 English and/or Grade 12 math are eligible to take an admissions assessment test.

In this program, students work with various visual media such as photographs, video, animation, and motion graphics. The curriculum covers the history of motion, image sequencing, holography, 3D printing techniques, video production and computer animation.
Students gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and processes, giving them insight into five key programs within the Faculty of Media, Art & Design: Animation – Digital Production, Game – Art, Graphic Design, Interactive Media Design, and Video Production. This program is designed to provide students with essential skills and prepare them for specialized study in these exciting fields. Students will build a diverse portfolio showcasing their technical and artistic abilities, which is perfect for applications to advanced programs.

Jennifer Bedford is a program and research coordinator at DC. Her lens-based work has been published internationally and exhibited across North America, Europe, and Africa. She holds a Master of Arts in Communication and New Media and an honours undergraduate degree in Studio Art and Multimedia from McMaster University.
With over eight years of experience in graphic design, motion design, brand development and an MA - Design, Shaun specializes in creating impactful visual identities and campaigns for national brands and broadcasts. He leverages industry expertise to deliver innovative, real-world design education.
Kevin D. Fraser is an award-winning, internationally screened documentary filmmaker. A former TV writer, Kevin has worked on over a dozen different TV shows, from live events to animated series. A graduate of York and TMU, Kevin has been a professor at Durham College since 2013.
