Meet the Candidates in the Administrative Staff Governor Election VOTE HERE Nadia Eid Since joining DC, I’ve only heard great stories about our positive culture and the commitment to students. While I contribute to our organization and mandate through my current role, I’m also eager to bring a fresh perspective and proven governance experience to support the Board of Governors on decisions that will keep DC resilient. Here’s a little about me: over my time in the public service, my work as a leader included strategic planning, financial reporting, and program delivery, ultimately leading teams for 7 years as a director. At the ministry responsible for colleges and universities, I gained perspective on the financial challenges making decisions tougher. In my role I was able to make a direct impact while learning about common pain points – delivering over $5B in payments to 46 post-secondary institutions, managing ~$200M in capital programs, and working with Laurentian University as they regained sustainability. I’ve also advised executives on a range of programs impacting Ontarians. Reviewing financial proposals and issues across files like tourism, seniors, Francophone affairs, and post-secondary education, I looked deeper and asked the questions that revealed risks and clarified impacts, leading to better outcomes. I know digging below the surface to understand decision points and risks can only be successful when we prioritize building trusted relationships, use collaborative problem solving, and apply practical solutions. As a Governor, I’ll listen objectively and challenge ideas constructively, so the Board can maximize opportunities and minimize risks. Many strategic decisions are likely ahead for DC, and I would be honoured to have a local impact, bringing my experiences, instincts, and values to help the Board continue to make sound choices. I hope to have your support for my nomination. Thank you Nadia Tanya Wakelin Robin Young
