The Access and Support Centre (ASC) welcomes students who may require academic accommodations and is committed to making their experience at Durham College (DC) as accessible and inclusive as possible. Accommodations are available to students who meet the requirements related to protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC), including disability, creed, and family status.

This can include learning disabilities or ADHD, mental health, physical disabilities, injuries or illnesses, and sensory disabilities such as deafness or low vision. Support may also be available for religious, spiritual or sincerely held beliefs, family caregiving responsibilities and other circumstances recognized under the OHRC.

Because no two students have the same circumstances, ASC takes an individualized approach to understanding each person’s situation. Students are encouraged to connect with the ASC team to ask questions, explore available support and develop an Access Plan that helps them succeed at DC.
