Beginning college is an exciting adventure, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. Your Onboarding Journey Over the coming weeks, you’ll receive emails introducing each stage of your Start Strong at DC experience, including: Step 1: Start Strong at DC Series Online modules and in-person sessions to build confidence and readiness. Step 2: Academic Welcome Sessions A half-day in-person introduction to program, faculty, classmates, and supports. Step 3: Orientation Events Campus events to connect, explore opportunities, and meet fellow students. Orientation Webpage: Your Information Hub The Orientation webpage is your main source for onboarding information, including events, registration links, and more. Please check it regularly throughout the summer. This Week’s Focus: Step 1 – Start Strong at DC Series: PREP 1000 PREP 1000 is a series of self-paced online modules designed to help you prepare for college. This is a non-graded activity you can complete at your own pace between now and September 30, 2026. Students who complete all modules will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a $250 campus gift card. Winners will be notified through DC Mail. Good luck! These modules cover key topics, such as navigating DC Connect, submitting assignments and quizzes, understanding expectations, and accessing student supports. Did You Know? 94 per cent of students felt better prepared to start college after completing Start Strong at DC, and 96 per cent felt more comfortable with DC Connect as a result of completing the online modules. To get started: Log in to DC Connect with your Student ID and network password. Open “PREP 1000” in your course list. Note: If your DC network password is not set up, please visit Quick Start for DC Students - Durham College for guidance. If PREP 1000 is not visible after logging in, email your full name and student number to studentdevelopment@durhamcollege.ca.
