Start Strong at DC Sessions Our Start Strong at DC series includes online modules, live virtual sessions, and in-person events designed to help you feel confident, connected, and ready for your first day of classes. For the best possible experience, we recommend that you do it all! PREP 1000 – Self-paced Online Learning Modules September 2026 first-year students will have access to PREP 1000 on July 14 – Keep an eye on your inbox for access details! We’re excited to introduce you to PREP 1000 – a collection of online learning modules designed to help you navigate college life before your first day of classes. This is the first step in your orientation journey, and you’ll be introduced to key information that you’ll need to be successful at DC. 94% of students shared that they felt better prepared to start college after completing the PREP 1000 course and 96% felt more comfortable with DC Connect as a result of taking this course. This is a non-graded course, and you can work through the modules at your own pace anytime between now and the completion deadline of September 30, 2026. These modules are designed to help you get started by covering key topics, including: How to navigate DC Connect, the college’s learning management system (LMS) used in all academic courses Opportunities to practice uploading assignments, take quizzes, and participate in online class discussions An overview of student expectations and the many support services available to you Tips for thriving at DC and finding your community inside and outside of the classroom As an added incentive, if you finish all the modules by September 30, you’ll automatically be entered into a draw for a chance to win a $250 Campus Store gift card.
