Winter Orientation

Congratulations on becoming the newest members of our Durham College community!

Your success is our number one priority and our extensive orientation programs have been designed to ensure you feel prepared for your first day of classes.

DC Orientation: PREP1000

PREP1000 is DC’s first-year experience course. This self-guided, non-academic course is located within DC Connect and consists of a series of modules designed to prepare you for your first day of classes. Each module consists of both important information to help get you started, and a series of tasks designed to familiarize you with DC Connect, our learning management system.

The first series of modules will be released on November 29, 2021

The second series of modules will be released on December 9, 2021

We require all new students to complete PREP 1000. All students who have completed all five modules by January 31, 2022, will be entered into a draw for a chance to win 1 of 2 $500 Amazon gift cards.

To get started:

  • Sign-in to DC Connect using your Student ID and network password
  • Select PREP 1000 from your list of courses
  • Complete all Modules
  • Register for virtual sessions
