Spring virtual orientation

Congratulations on becoming the newest members of our Durham College community!

Your success is our number one priority and our extensive orientation programs have been designed to ensure you feel prepared for your first day of classes.

DC Orientation: PREP1000

PREP1000 is DC’s first-year experience course. This self-guided, non-academic course is located within DC Connect and consists of 7 modules designed to prepare you for your first day of classes. Each module consists of both important information to help get you started, and a series of tasks designed to familiarize you with DC Connect, our learning management system.

Modules 1-3 will be released April 1, 2021

Modules 4-7 will be released April 12, 2021

We require all new Spring semester DC students to complete PREP1000. All students who have completed all 7 modules by May 31, 2021 will be entered into a draw for a $500 Amazon gift card.

To get started:

  • Sign-in to DC Connect using your Student ID and network password
  • Select PREP 1000 from your list of courses
  • Complete Modules
  • Register for virtual sessions

DC Orientation: Orientation Day

Spring Orientation Day will be taking place on Thursday, April 29!

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION: International students are required to virtually join our International Education office on Thursday, April 29 for International Student Orientation from 9 to 10:30 a.m. For more information and to register visit the International tab above.

PROGRAM ORIENTATION: All new DC students are encouraged to virtually participate in Program Orientation on Thursday, April 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Meet your faculty, fellow classmates, and discover important details about your new program of study! To locate your program’s specific virtual room, visit the Program Orientation tab above. Please note that room links will not be available until event day.
