Ministry-approved title: Cloud and Information Technology Systems
The Cloud and Information Technology Systems Ontario College Diploma provides a structured pathway into the modern Information Technology (IT) and cloud computing industry. Designed for students establishing foundational knowledge in computing technology and cloud systems, the program focuses on cloud services, workflow automation, and scalable, secure, high-performance solutions. Students gain practical experience with AI-driven and cloud-based technologies while strengthening core IT skills. Graduates will be prepared to pursue AWS Cloud Technologies certifications and enter a rapidly evolving IT landscape, equipped to launch careers in cloud computing, modern digital infrastructure, and related technology-driven fields.
Computer Science (ICS4U), Computer Programming (ICS4C) and Grade 12
Durham College (DC) offers pre-admission assessment testing to mature domestic applicants to meet admission requirements in English and/or Math. Domestic applicants who are 19 years of age or older as of the start date of their program, and who do not have the required program credit(s), i.e. Grade 12 English and/or Grade 12 Math are eligible to take an admissions assessment test.

The Cloud and Information Technology Systems Ontario College diploma prepares students to succeed in today’s fast-paced and evolving Information Technology (IT) industry. Students develop essential skills in computer architecture, cloud computing, cybersecurity, virtualization, DevOps, IT project management, application programming, computing networking, operating systems, databases, and modern-day compliance and ethics in IT.
Upon program completion, graduates will be equipped to build, manage, and support modern digital applications on-premises (on-prem) or in the cloud. With advanced knowledge and skills, they will be able to work confidently with the latest cloud-based and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven technologies while maintaining security and compliance standards. Graduates will also be prepared to challenge Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Technologies certifications at both the entry and associate levels, giving them a competitive advantage to launch a successful career in IT.

Semester 4 – Cloud and Information Technology Systems Capstone – 42 hours
Students complete a cumulative capstone project focused on cloud computing, applying the tools, knowledge, and experience gained throughout the program. Working under the guidance of a faculty advisor, they design a project that demonstrates their mastery of core IT concepts and showcases the fundamental skills developed during their studies.
Students enrolling in this program are required to purchase their own laptop.
