Quick Start for DC Students This page provides Durham College Students with helpful links to help you get connected to common IT Services such as: New Students - First-time logon Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) Setup - DC Students Only Self-Service Password Reset - DC Students Only Wi-Fi Access Printing Support FIRST-TIME LOGIN Important: Your network account is created 24–48 hours after you pay your deposit (domestic) or full fees (international). If you haven’t paid, your account will not be available. What do you need to login? Your Durham College email address (ending in @dcmail.ca) Where do I find my email address? Your email address can be found in your welcome email sent out by the registrar’s office after paying your deposit OR You can login here using your student number and applicant password (usually birthdate in MMDDYY format) to view your Durham College Institutional Email. Your Default network password Your default network password should be your birthdate in 6-digit format mmddyy For example, if your birthday is June 27, 2001, your password will be 062701 Download the Microsoft Authenticator App Scan the QR code to go directly to the app store Logging in: Navigate to www.dcmail.ca Enter your Durham College email address (ending in @dcmail.ca) Enter your password – if this is the first time you are logging in, use your default password. If not, enter your current network password. You will now be asked for more information which brings you through the Multifactor Authentication (MFA) setup. Click next to proceed through each screen The Microsoft Authenticator App is the recommended method for authentication. If this is not an option for you, select “I want to set up a different method” and select another method. Only available methods will be shown. After successful setup of MFA, you will be prompted to select a new password. Type your current password first and then your new password in the new password and confirm password fields. Note: Passwords must be a minimum of 12 characters, have at least 1 capital letter and 1 number CONNECTING TO WI-FI Important: Prior to connecting to Wi-Fi for the first time, new students must log in to the network and change their default password. (See first-time login above) Connect to CAMPUS-AIR using your network credentials. Username is your student number (10xxxxxxx) and the password is your network password. Click here for detailed device specific WI-FI setup instructions SELF-SERVICE PASSWORD RESET If you've completed your first-time login and set up MFA, you can reset your password using the self-service tool. Self-Service Password Reset PRINTING Students can print various places on campus such as in the computer commons, library and some labs equipped with printers. Print credits must be purchased in advance from the Campus Bookstore. More information on printing and print credits MICROSOFT 365 ACCESS How to Log in to Microsoft Office 365 and OneDrive (Web Access) Open an internet Web Browser Go to the Microsoft 365 login page at portal.office.com Enter your Durham College Email Address (ending in @dcmail.ca) Enter your network password If prompted, complete any Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) steps Once signed in, select Apps To use Office apps like Word, Excel, or PowerPoint online, click the app icons from the dashboard To access your cloud files, click the OneDrive icon in the dashboard How to Download Office 365 Important: Please uninstall any previous versions of Microsoft Office before beginning the installation. Go to the Microsoft Office portal by opening a web browser and navigate to portal.office.com/account Sign in with your student email (ending in @dcmail.ca). On the next screen, input your network password. Note: If this is your first time logging in, you may be prompted to complete Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Follow the on-screen instructions as outlined in the First-Time Login guide at the top of the page. Once signed in, you'll be directed to your Microsoft account page. Click the Install Office button to download the OfficeSetup.exe file Run the setup file once the download is complete.
