ACE Core Math

This course is designed to give learners a grounding in varied aspects of mathematics, including numeric and algebraic operations; measurement and geometry; collecting, displaying and analyzing data; mathematical relationships; statistics and probability; simple and compound interest; and everyday financing.

ACE Apprenticeship Math

This course is designed for learners preparing for various college and apprenticeship programs and/or the workplace who wish to consolidate their basic mathematical skills and improve their problem-solving techniques. Units of study include number sense and algebra; measurement and geometry; proportional reasoning; analytic geometry; relations and functions; trigonometric functions; statistics and probability; and personal finance.

ACE Communications

This course emphasizes reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. Learners are asked to demonstrate their ability to evaluate the information, ideas, issues, and styles evident in a variety of informational texts, media works and literary pieces. Learners use different sources to gather information, select appropriate forms of writing and choose from a range of organizational structures in producing unified and effective written work. Learners will also process and use oral communication effectively, assess a variety of media works and create one type of media work.

ACE Self-Management

This course will provide students with the opportunity to manage their personal development. The learning strategies will include, critical thinking, goal setting, study skills, group dynamics and self-reflection. These skills will offer students the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to become effective, confident, and flexible in everyday life and work!

ACE Computer Foundations

This course has been designed for computer users with little experience but who want to learn more. Topics include an introduction to hardware and software, general maintenance of your computer, file management, email, online communication, and Internet use. Learners will learn to produce simple, correctly formatted documents using word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and database software. This course also allows learners to learn about ethical business practices related to the use of information technology.

ACE Biology

This course focuses on structure and function in the areas of cellular biology, microbiology, human anatomy, genetics and our natural environment. Three major themes of biology are introduced: organization, homeostasis and interconnectedness. Emphasis is on the practical application of these concepts. The content of the course reflects the needs of many adult learners entering postsecondary college programs in health and environmental sciences.

ace CHEMISTRY

This course provides learners with a strong knowledge of chemistry as it applies to health and environmental issues. Emphasis is given to analyzing problems and communicating scientific information effectively. The content of the course reflects the needs of many adult learners entering postsecondary college programs in health and environmental sciences.

Conversational English

This free 7-week Conversational English course is designed for advanced ESL learners seeking to enhance their speaking and listening skills for everyday interactions and professional environments. Through interactive learning, personalized feedback, and practical application, students will build confidence in using English across a range of contexts, including daily activities, workplace communication, and social interactions. The course follows the Ontario Adult Literacy Curriculum Framework (OALCF) to ensure comprehensive skill development, culminating in improved conversational fluency and effective communication for real-world situations.
