As a first step to getting started with Essential Skills, you will complete an intake assessment. Completing the assessment provides us the opportunity to determine your current skill level and knowledge and helps us to create a personalized training plan with activities and milestones chosen specifically with your personal growth in mind! As part of the registration process, an Essential Skills Facilitator will speak to you regarding the results of your assessment, review your personalized training plan, complete the registration paperwork and answer any questions you may have. Registration paperwork will be completed either prior to or on the first day of the in-person training. As a government-funded, Employment Ontario program you will be asked to provide personal information (incl. SIN), and some basic background information on your education and employment history. All your details are kept strictly confidential and are not used by Durham College for any other purpose beyond registering you with Employment Ontario.
