The Honours Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence (AI) degree program at Durham College combines interdisciplinary study with hands-on learning and real-world applications. With an emphasis on ethical AI practices, students develop the technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills needed to contribute to this rapidly evolving field.
In addition to artificial intelligence coursework, students gain practical experience through opportunities to work in the data analytics or AI industry. This experience allows students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings while developing professional skills and industry insight.
Students learn from faculty with expertise in AI, engage in innovative projects, and benefit from industry connections, flexible learning options, and dedicated career services. Through experiential learning and a focus on emerging technologies, the program prepares graduates to contribute to the development and responsible application of artificial intelligence across a range of industries.

Durham College has been granted consent by the Minister of Colleges and Universities to offer this applied degree for a term of seven years starting January 7, 2021. DC will ensure that all students admitted to this program will have the opportunity to complete the program within a reasonable time frame. In conformity with the Minister’s criteria and requirements, DC will submit an application for the renewal of the consent for this program 12 months prior to the expiration of the consent.

Graduates of Durham College’s Honours Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence (AI) degree program enter the workforce with specialized skills in analyzing, designing, and implementing AI systems using systematic methodologies.

The program combines technical expertise with applied learning to prepare graduates for the dynamic and evolving field of artificial intelligence.
Students in this program have access to DC’s Hub for Applied Research in Artificial Intelligence for Business Solutions. Known as the AI Hub, this technology studio and applied research centre helps organizations explore the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence.
Upon completion of your artificial intelligence courses, you can expect to understand and be able to do the following:
Durham College (DC) offers pre-admission assessment testing to mature domestic applicants to meet admission requirements in English and/or Math. Domestic applicants who are 19 years of age or older as of the start date of their program, and who do not have the required program credit(s), i.e. Grade 12 English and/or Grade 12 Math are eligible to take an admissions assessment test.

The work-integrated learning experience is an integral part of the Honours Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence program. By combining hands-on experience in data analytics and artificial intelligence with their academic work, students gain a better understanding of these methods and techniques and learn valuable lessons in how to work collaboratively with others.
Work-integrated learning experiences are designed to support the learning outcomes of the Artificial Intelligence program. Students experience working in the data analytics or artificial intelligence industry, where their contributions and success are evaluated in a real-world manner, building on the knowledge acquired in the classroom.
