International Wellness Check

Make your health and wellness a priority this year by booking an international student wellness check with the Campus Health and Wellness Centre. Our international health team will address any health concerns you might have. The check-up and majority of laboratory tests that may be recommend are covered through your health insurance!

Before booking a medical appointment please fill out this form and email to CHWC@durhamcollege.ca.

This will help us settle your claims on your behalf, however – if not successful, your student account may be billed. It is your responsibility to know what is covered through your insurance. 

Physician appointments regarding chronic, pre-existing medical conditions and pregnancies conceived before the commencement of your coverage may not covered. CLICK HERE if you have questions about your coverage or to fill out a pre-determination form.

BOOK A MEDICAL APPOINTMENT

What’s included in the check-up?

Medical Exam

  • Focused physical examination.
  • Medical history and immunization status review.
  • Screening for common issues (i.e. fatigue, headaches and low motivation).
  • Medication management.
  • Referrals to specialists as needed.

Health Education

Review of sexual health resources and counselling, smoking cessation programs, dietary education and resources for adapting to a new country.

Mental Health Education

Review of available mental health resources and supports for students including counselling services, mental health nurses, coaching, crisis support and psychiatry referrals.
