Reclaiming Power and Place: The Final Report of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls The facts: The murder rate of Indigenous women is six times higher than the national average. Indigenous women experience violent crime 2.7 times more often than the national average. Indigenous women account for 24 per cent of female murder victims, but only 4 per cent of all women in Canada. (Statistics Canada, 2016) The Final Report is a collection of the truths of more than 2,380 family members, survivors of violence, experts and Knowledge Keepers.
