This course introduces students to various techniques for automated data processing and storage in an engineering and manufacturing environment. Students will cover topics such as Windows command line interface scripting, the Awk programming for data transformation and Product Data Management (PDM) systems for data storage and retrieval. Finally, the course will introduce the concept of basic data transmission and networking using serial and TCP/IP communications.
