This course is designed to provide the human resources management student with working experience of the process, theories, techniques, and practices involved in developing and administering a compensation system. The course enables students to evaluate the theoretical and applied aspects of the compensation function and create a linkage between the compensation function and the organizational management process. The students will have an opportunity to align compensation policies and techniques to strategic objectives of a company. They will then design a compensation system that attracts, retains, and motivates the workforce. Students who receive and average grade of 70% in these courses and maintain a minimum grade of 65% in each course meet the coursework requirements to write the Comprehensive Knowledge Exams – a significant step towards becoming a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP).
