Biopharmaceuticals, Cannabis and Natural Health Products

This course will provide an overview of three key areas related to the pharmaceutical industry. The basic principles of biotechnology and classes of biopharmaceuticals will be discussed along with modern methods of production and formulation. Cannabis will be discussed in the context of other natural health products, their development, production and distribution. The regulatory requirements for these three areas will be discussed and contrasted to the rules governing traditional small molecule pharmaceuticals.
