Dental Imaging Basics

This lecture subject is designed to instruct the student in the basic principles of intraoral and extraoral dental imaging. Students explore the principles and processes surrounding film based as well as two dimensional and three-dimensional digital technology. Students are introduced to the basics of radiation safety for clients and the dental office staff. Students will examine the legal considerations surrounding radiographic record keeping and the digital transfer of client radiographic records. Students will also be introduced to various other leading edge dental technologies used in the dental practice.
