Field Placement

Advertising students will participate in a field placement within the Advertising/Marketing communications industry where they will demonstrate the knowledge and skills acquired throughout their program of study. Although students are encouraged to proactively seek opportunities, the program team offers support through lead sharing and interview coordination with historical partners who provide opportunities for students to showcase talents. Students are expected to complete a minimum of 6 weeks in a related advertising discipline in order to fulfill graduation requirements. 6 weeks is considered a sufficient amount of time to display knowledge and skills in order for Placement Supervisors to accurately assess student performance. Students are to be regarded as full-time employees; assuming students complete 5 days a week at 8 hours a day, this would equate to a total of 240 hours over the required 6-week period. Full days are preferred so the experience proves beneficial to both student and participating company, however, total hours are negotiable based on the needs of the participating company.
