Pre-Health Biology I

Have you ever wondered how cancer arises in the body or why heart attacks occur? Students explore the anatomy and physiology of the human body by examining the relationship between biological molecules, cells, genetics, tissues and body systems. Emphasis is placed on describing the structures and functions of the digestive, integumentary, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems and making connections to human health and homeostasis. Students are also introduced to principles of the scientific method while investigating scientific questions related to the human body. Through interactive activities and hands-on laboratory-based learning, this course prepares students for a future in healthcare-related fields.
