Pre-Health Biology II

Have you ever wondered why your arm bone is nicknamed the "funny bone" or why a person with diabetes may need to take insulin? Students explore the fundamental structures and functions of the human body related to the urinary, skeletal, muscular, immune, endocrine, nervous, and reproductive systems. Students describe the interconnectedness of these body systems and explain how anatomy and physiology relate to human health and homeostasis. Students are also introduced to principles of the scientific method while investigating scientific questions related to the human body. Through interactive activities and hands-on laboratory-based learning, this course prepares students for college-level studies in healthcare-related fields.
