CAM II

Metal cutting industries today incorporate a large amount of Computer Numerical Control (CNC) technology. Students who seek employment in this area must understand and be capable of applying this technology to a given task. Students will study the use of Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software to create CNC milling programs of increasing difficulty starting with simple prismatic shapes and continuing to complex free-form shapes. Additionally, students will study the creation of CNC programs for turning as well. The laboratory component of this course provides practical experience in the Integrated Manufacturing Lab where programs that have been created can be set up and machined.
