Human Resources Management

This course introduces students to the management aspects of Human Resources. Specific focus is on the factors that affect the overall atmosphere in the workplace and which contribute to an environment conducive to maximum productivity. Students will be introduced to effective strategies for hiring, motivating, managing, and retaining staff. Students will study the following topics: the strategic importance of Human Resources; competitive challenges facing Human Resources in civil environments; job analysis and design; recruitment and selection; health and safety; employee rights and discipline; and labour relations.
