Computer Applications for HR Professionals

In this Advanced Spreadsheet Applications for the HRM program, students will build on their knowledge from the previous Excel course by introducing the advanced functions and features of Microsoft Excel to demonstrate proficiency using spreadsheet software. Students will develop skills to create, format and edit professional worksheets and workbooks using: tables, pivot tables/charts, advanced functions, audit tools, data analysis tools, and macros. Students will cultivate their skills in spreadsheet applications in order to develop comprehensive solutions to business problems; and utilize tools of spreadsheets to enable business leaders to make informed Human Resources decisions. As part of this course, students will have the opportunity to attempt the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Excel Expert Exam in order to obtain a Microsoft Office Expert Specialist Certificate (a globally recognized credential). The MOS exam must be proctored; therefore students will be provided the exam date/time early in the semester to arrange their schedules accordingly.
