This course is designed to provide students with an overview of the selling landscape in Canada; it identifies the various roles and responsibilities associated with being a professional salesperson and the characteristics needed to ensure success in the field. Students will be introduced to the various selling tools and techniques used to influence a buyer's decision-making process. Students will gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for different personality and learning styles and how to adapt behaviour for more effective interactions/outcomes. Students will also build self-confidence as they learn to prepare, design and deliver both visual and oral presentations. This course will cover all stages involved in the formal sales process with an emphasis placed on customer service and follow-up which is instrumental to building strong long-term relationships. The knowledge and skills acquired from this course will enable students to be more persuasive and effective communicators when delivering messages to various audiences.
