Through the integration of theory and practice, this introductory course provides the dental hygiene student with fundamental dental hygiene skills such as infection control, positioning, response to basic medical emergencies, assessment instrumentation, vitals, oral evacuation, alginate impressions and coronal polishing. The students will apply these concepts during practice, evaluation and self reflection in the clinical setting.
