Dental Hygiene Theory III

This course advances the dental hygiene students' knowledge in the application of dental hygiene process concepts, knowledge, skills and judgment in client care. Theory and a mentorship opportunity will advance the student's knowledge in the assessment phase of care, including contra indications to care, radiographic interpretation as well as implementation of tobacco cessation management. Emphasis will be placed on planning of client-centered care for a diversity of client case studies. Record keeping requirements will be examined to include the evaluation phase of care and chart audits. Ethics, jurisprudences and will be closely examined as requirement of professional dental hygiene practice.
