This course is designed to arm learners with the necessary tools and strategies needed to effectively investigate and prepare for career opportunities within the Advertising industry. Learners will identify and practice elements of professional etiquette both in terms of self-promotion and work place conduct. They will have the opportunity to interact with advertising and marketing professionals from various disciplines gaining valuable insight into the skills and personalities required for specific roles (through sessions with guest speakers). With guidance, learners will be able to identify job areas to be explored for internship and/or potential career opportunities. This course places emphasis on the written, verbal, and visual principles guiding effective communication. Upon completion, learners will apply the acquired principles in the creation and delivery of a professional portfolio package to aid in the promotion of their personal brands.
