In this hybrid course, students will explore emerging trends within the mediation and alternative dispute resolution industry. A weekly two hour component will be completed online along with a one hour seminar-style discussion in class. Students will recognize the various ways to practice within this diverse field, through the exploration of topics such as: online mediation, cannabis mediation, condo mediation, mediation for people with disabilities, risk assessment, and self employment and networking. Some professional organizations involved with these streams will be introduced, and students will have the opportunity to engage with current practitioners.
