This course helps students acquire and develop the business knowledge and skills they will need when they begin their careers. Students collaborate with classmates to identify, discuss, analyse, and reflect on organizational planning, internal and external issues and processes that impact decision-making in an organization, the tasks and responsibilities performed by managers, and the function of departments such as communications and marketing, finance, and HR. Additionally, students perform simulated HR, communications and marketing (evaluation), and finance tasks to learn some of the ways IT staff may collaborate with stakeholders within the organization.
