IMM Practical II

Students learn alignment and leveling techniques using optical and laser equipment and perform routine inspections on a variety of industrial valves and heat exchangers. They learn about predictive maintenance tools and perform vibration analysis, dynamic balancing, and non-destructive testing. The correct use of a torque wrench is demonstrated through their installation of a large bolted flange assembly. They cut, thread, assemble and pressure test a black pipe and copper tubing project. Power transmission components, industrial bearings, pumps, compressors, and conveyors are installed to manufacturer's specifications.
