Principles Of Supply Chain Management

This is an introductory course about the principles, functions, processes and objectives of supply chain management. Students explore the planning, organizing, and controlling necessary in the physical movement of raw materials, inventory, and finished goods from point of origin to point of use or consumption. The course focuses on the internal activities and processes that supply chain and operations managers are responsible for in their own organization. All organizations exist to provide products or services to customers and remaining competitive requires those goods and services be produced efficiently, and that they meet or exceed the customer's expectations. This course will introduce students to some of the tools that supply chain and operations managers use to make decisions and to manage the resources and activities that will ensure the organization can reliably supply the goods and services that its customers want.
